Call for Papers

Dear friends and colleagues,

On behalf of the Conference Organizing Committee, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the XVII edition of the Iberian Meeting on Computational Electromagnetics (EIEC), which will take place between 27th and 30th October 2026 in Elgorriaga (Navarra, Spain).

The XVII Iberian Meeting on Computational Electromagnetics will be organized by the Public University of Navarra (UPNA). EIEC meetings allow the exchange of knowledge between members of Portuguese and Spanish research groups working on computational electromagnetics and its applications in the various branches of Physics and Electrical Engineering by providing a highly specialized environment. These contacts contribute to forging closer ties in a community whose activity could be diluted in forums with a broader scope, favoring the establishment of partnerships that eventually lead to the development of joint projects.

Traditionally, EIEC promotes dialogue and the sharing of ideas among participants beyond the formal sessions. For this reason, all editions have been held in small towns and quiet environments, avoiding dispersion and encouraging interaction during lunches, dinners and social activities. In this edition, the meeting will take place in Elgorriaga, in the Malerreka valley, a natural setting in northern Navarra, close to the Baztan valley, offering a calm atmosphere well suited for scientific exchange and informal discussion.

The meeting favors longer presentations, as opposed to conventional conferences or symposia, allowing groups to present the research lines they are currently developing together with their most relevant results and perspectives. All contributions are organized within a single oral session, so that all participants attend all presentations, maximizing interaction and knowledge exchange.

In line with the spirit of the meeting, the emphasis is placed on clarity of ideas, depth of discussion and the sharing of research directions, rather than on particularly polished or spectacular results. Contributions presenting ongoing work, emerging concepts or recent progress are especially welcome.

TOPICS

The meeting covers, but is not limited to, the following topics:

  • Integral Equation Methods in time or frequency domains
  • Differential Equation Methods in time or frequency domains
  • Numerical Methods and Multi-Physics
  • Asymptotic Methods and High-Frequency Techniques
  • Metasurfaces, Metamaterials and Periodic Structures
  • Inverse Scattering and Imaging Techniques
  • Optimization Techniques and Machine Learning for EM-based Design
  • Electromagnetic Compatibility / Electromagnetic Interference (EMC/EMI)
  • Electromagnetic Simulation for Advanced Applications
  • Antenna Theory and Design
  • Other Topics in Computational Electromagnetics

LANGUAGE

The official languages of the meeting are Portuguese and Spanish, although English is also accepted. However, all the written materials elaborated by the participants –abstracts, papers, slides, etc.- should be only in English.

PAPER SUBMISSION

In a first step, authors are expected to submit a one-page abstract (free format, in English).

In a second step, authors may submit an extended version of their abstracts (up to four pages). Further details and templates will be provided in due course.
